INdeed! Yes! A slow motorbike with a bathtub attached to make it even slower! It'll carry the dog!!It'll carry the groceries!! This 2012 KLR650, like all KLR650s, is powered by a drivetrain which has been nearly unchanged since it's first production in 1987. Why?? If it ain't broke, don’t fix it. No, it does not have fuel injection, that's the 3rd generation, and this is the 2nd. Ok, enough jibber jabber, I'll start off with the bad and end with the good. The odometer correctly reads 57,790. It was in a mild crash where it bumped a K rail, and then slid on its right side as shown in the pictures, which necessitated a radiator replacement. The owner had improperly installed a rivet type master link once that resulted in the chain coming off, putting a few cosmetic gouges in the swing arm, he also stupidly engraved the measurements for chain slack on it too so he wouldn't need to look it up again. For the medium stuff: The diaphragm of the OEM vacuum petco*ck busted, and has been replaced with an aftermarket manual one. He topped off the gas tank a bit too much once, it expanded and overflowed causing the original paint to bubble off, and he repainted the tank with bed liner. The valve lash has been serviced once, as a result of the owner paying little attention to THAT service interval around 15k miles. Presently, it still starts hot without issues, and it's not like it's operated above 6K rpm anyway that would accelerate receding valves. One of the bolts of the exhaust wiggled its self free once and the ever so bulbous muffler pressed on one side of the rear tire, causing a few spokes to break before the owner realized what was going wrong with the handling, as a result an EBAY wheel was purchased, and is chrome instead of black. He still has the original wheel, but never got around to teaching himself to finish tensioning the spokes. It will come with a giant box of extras. He fabricated an ugly but functional heel shifter. Other extras include an oversized windshield, a center stand(if you'd like to go back to two wheels, an ACU camouflage tank vest, extra sprockets, oil filters, and a bunch of other consumable stuff that I can't remember. As for the sidecar. A brief explanation for vehicles like it is needed. Sidecars rigs are lopsided tricycles, unless square profile tires are fitted(like a car's, that don’t come in the size needed to fit the KLR) and the front suspension modified with a "leading link front end", the steering will have "head-shake", as it's called, at slow speeds. Monitoring tire pressure helps, but does not eliminate this. A steering dampener may help too. For those who have never operated a sidecar rig before this can be very unnerving. All that is needed for regular operation is to lock one's elbows. This is NOT, as one might imagine, a jeep wrangler death-wobble. This vehicle can cruise at 60 mph, takes a modest amount of upper body strength to operate, and going any faster is tiring. Like most rigs, there is no brake on the sidecar wheel. The sidecar was added around 2015, and bought from DMC Sidecars. Yes, the sidecar cost more than the motorcycle. The headlamps that came with it overloaded the motorcycles alternator to the point that the battery wouldn't charge. Right now there are LED's that have a different beam angle and color, so they’re mostly for show rather than illumination. It will also come with a soft tonneau cover and a windshield. Now for the good stuff. Tusk rack and panniers obviously, Thermobob kit(not sure that it ever solved the problems of the KLR that it's designed for), Eagle mike fork brace and oil filler cap. The owner has religiously changed the oil and filter every 3K miles. One owner vehicle that starts up every time. The owner is wanting to sell this since he's now gainfully employed, able to afford gasoline for the pickup truck, has bought himself a Harley that is faster and more comfortable, would like the extra room in the garage, and hasn't taken it out much more that once a week for some time. As expected with a private sale: sold as-is, no payment plans, cash only, test drives are with cash-in-hand, you-break-it you-buy-it, I'll sign the title over at the bank once they tell me the cash is real. Gotta be straight to the point with scammers these days unfortunately. Thank you for your interest. $4250.
